It’s been a while…

My sweet daddy 💙

Spending precious time with Daddy

 Hi friends!

I am so sorry for not writing.  It has been really hard to find any motivation lately.  We recently found out that my daddy has cancer again and it’s not looking good.  Just please pray for a miracle … they’ve given him a 10% chance of survival.  My heart breaks at the thought of life without him. :(

It’s been so long I don’t know where to begin…
My post op went well.  The implants were all looking good.  I got to start brushing my implant posts!  I know it’s usually viewed as a chore, but after not having anything to brush for a good long while, it feels good to get to do it again!  The price of the next stage actually went down from $5,000 to $1,200!!  Wow!  What a blessing!  I still need a bit to reach that, but thankfully it’s a lot less!  I asked what my options for the upper is with implants.  He said that since I have two impacted canine teeth up in my palate it would be a two part venture.  They would have to go in, remove those teeth, sprinkle bone powder (from dead people {shivers}), wait around 3 or 4 months for bone to grow, and then they could do the implants like they did on the bottom.  Getting upper implants is a long term goal for me but it’ll take a while to get the money.  Until that day, I still plan to get the lower implant denture and regular upper plate denture.  On Saturday, June 4th one of my screws to my implants was super loose so I called the Surgeon’s emergency number and, as I was speaking, the screw actually fell out.  He told me it was fine and call Monday morning and bring the screw.  The tissue had already grown over the implant so the receptionist said that he’d have to numb me up and open the gum to get the screw back in…only I can’t have local anesthetics!  Turns out the ignorant anesthesiologist gave me lidocaine and, when I didn’t have immediate anaphylaxis, told my surgeon it was safe because it was preservative free.  THAT is why I had excruciating pain (locals cause extreme pain instead of numbing), was so swollen I couldn’t breathe when laying on my back, had to take Benadryl every 4 hours for days, etc.  Here I thought I was having a major reaction to the trauma and then I find out they did lidocaine.  Let’s just say, I’ve had a good talk with my surgeon about NOT trusting anesthesiologists with me.  I don’t because I can’t - they don’t understand MCAS and have botched me multiple times (some requiring hospital stays).  I trust my surgeon not to repeat that mistake but that specific anesthesiologist will NEVER work with me again!  He had to override my allergy in the system in order to give me lidocaine in the first place.  PLUS it is in my automatic NO list right before I go under….I always remind them - “no lidocaine, no locals, no dye” no matter what I’m having done.  So he had to go against that right off too.  We contacted them when we found out and made it clear I was never to see that doctor again and told them what he had done!  So now they have it everywhere possible and in bold.  And I’ve revamped my allergy and procedure lists where it says multiple times about not doing lidocaine, locals, or any caines!  SO, I have to go back to the OR under anesthesia tomorrow afternoon at 1:45 to get my gum cut open and the screw replaced.  It should be fairly quick and hopefully not much of a recovery time.  We’ll see.  Just pray I get a good anesthesiologist who won’t make stupid decisions on his/her own!  I now have it on my paper that they are not to override any allergies or make any decisions without contacting my family.  So they will be in BIG trouble if they try it again!

Therapy has been going well!  I’m seeing some improvements in my heart rate!  I have to do my workout three times a day and they’re slowly building up.  I have gone from only simple exercises laying down to now incorporating some sitting exercises and a few mild standing exercises.  That made it a bit more motivating when I started to see progress!

Thank you to those who have been praying and who have given towards my teeth!  Please continue to share my fundraising links…I still have a ways to go so I’d greatly appreciate it!
