Hello There!

I'm so sorry for the delay in updating.  It has been busy here!

On Monday, August 26th I went in to UNC hospital for yet another round of dental work.  This time they did 12 more fillings...a grand total of 23 counting the fillings I had done a month earlier.  They were very good this time!  The nurse told everyone entering my room (no matter what their specific job was) that I was NOT to have lactated ringers and the anesthesiologist had it all removed from the OR so no one would just grab and make the same mistake.  I got the same anesthesiologist but a different nurse anesthetist.  Turns out the lady that I didn't like was the nurse anesthetist and not the actual anesthesiologist.  It was a lot more relaxed and a better experience altogether!  To ensure she got all of the cavities this time, she had them try nasal intubation.  They actually were successful, but I guarantee they literally broke my nose in the process.  I had quite the bloody nose and it was very painful for quite some time.  It didn't shock me because I have a deviated septum plus scar tissue from having an NJ for so long.  It had narrowed to a point they couldn't get an NJ through....so to get a breathing tube through -- yeah, no wonder I had a bloody, painful nose!  BUT, this time I had no issues with my blood pressure afterwards which kinda confirms it was the lactated ringers mistake that caused it last time.  It took my body nearly a month to get my blood pressure back to normal!  My teeth sensitivities are gone and most pain is gone.  I still have the spontaneous pain on the left side which is baffling.  I went to my local dentist the very next day to have some of the fillings shortened and he redid X-rays to make sure all was taken care of this time and concluded that it had.  However, he is concerned about a couple things.  One being my adult teeth that are up in my pallet.  From his X-rays it looks like they are moving forward but heading towards my front teeth instead of towards the baby teeth that are actually supposed to be pushed out.  If they are indeed moving, I wonder if maybe they might be hitting a nerve, causing the spontaneous pain on my left side.  My dentist is concerned because if they are actually doing that then they could easily destroy the roots of my front teeth.  His other concern is my lower gaps where I've had teeth pulled.  Without teeth down there, over time my upper teeth above those gaps will keep lowering until they eventually have to pull them because they don't have lower teeth to bite against.  He is sending me back to my orthodontist for an evaluation of those adult teeth in my pallet because he has much more advanced X-ray where he can see exactly where those teeth are and if they are moving.  He's also sending me to possibly get a new retainer that contains a couple fake teeth where my gaps are to protect my upper teeth from getting messed up.  SO, thats where we stand with that right now.

We have appointments with our mast cell specialist in NY on Thursday so, Lord willing, we will be leaving the house at 6am tomorrow morning for a 12hr drive to our hotel in NY, have our appointments on Thursday morning, and drive home on Friday.  Hoping to sneak in a little Connecticut beach time in sometime before we head home.  I know Ezra will be thrilled.  He LOVES the beach and the ocean as I do!  He wasn't a fan the very first time I took him to a beach.  I think the ocean was just too loud and wild for him.  The second time I took him, I expected to have to coax him out and get him used to it, but boy, was I wrong!  It was hilarious....he nearly drug me to the ocean, crying all the way because I wasn't fast enough! :)  He has loved the beach ever since so I'm excited to see what he does this time!  Please pray for safe travels, a fun trip, and good, productive appointments!

Thank you so, so much for your love and prayers!  I will try to keep you updated throughout our trip!
